Radio Drama Revival, “The Zombies are Coming... But We’re Alive”

Radio Drama Revival is dedicated to showcasing the best of modern audio drama from across the world. This includes sci-fi, fantasy, detective stories, scary tales, drama, and stuff that defies description. Radio Drama Revival is thick on story and short on talk, though the show also features interviews with the producers of radio drama works as bonuses to the stories. Radio Drama Revival originates as terrestrial radio at WMPG, Greater Portland, Maine’s community radio station.
Ahhh, the living dead. Just in case the onslaught of reanimated corpses in my Halloween special weren’t enough to suite your tastes for the undead, we’ve got a plentiful serving of more from our new friends Wayland Enterprises, a group of California-based filmmakers turned audio dramatists.
It’s “We’re Alive,” AKA the Zombie Podcast.
In this tight, action-packed serial, a group of Iraq vets become the inadvertant protectors of a motley group of civilians in downtown LA during a zombie outbreak. Human drama and action ensues.

We’re Alive Podcast

I've been hearing a lot of good things about the 'We're Alive' podcast, so I thought I'd check it out and see for myself. 'We're Alive' started last May and is currently on part 1 of their 8th chapter. This is a unique podcast, in that it's reviving some of the old radio programming our grandparents grew up with.
The acting is actually very good in this show, something I did not expect, and the audio and sound effects quality are very good as well.
The story begins with three soldiers in the reserves to be called to their station because of a "riot" in Los Angeles. The three men arrive to find it deserted, and start to uncover what's really going on. I bet you can guess what it is. Starts with "Z" and ends with "ombies."
'We're Alive' is top notch stuff. I'm not much of a podcast guy, but I'll definitely be listening to this one till the conclusion. For more information on the podcast, check out the 'We're Alive' site here, and the podcast can be downloaded for free from the iTunes store.

Remember when your Mom or Dad would turn on the radio and you would lay on a pillow on the floor and listen to all your favorite programs? Neither do we, but Orange, CA writer/director/army vet Kc Wayland is yearning for those halcyon days enough to bring the undead to the radio via We're Alive, a free, radio drama podcast that is taking zombies to way back before film was in color.

We’re Alive: Zombie Podcast

Bringing back the magic of radio theater, “We’re Alive” is a free podcast that chronicles the survival attempted of soldiers and civilians in a post-apocalyptic zombie infested Los Angeles.
I’ve not yet listened to a full episode, but I have finished half of the first episode and I must say that the production and acting is very good so far.
Each Monday a new episode is released. Having started in the month of May of this year, the “We’re Alive” team has what appears to be a very well developed story line.
Very cool idea. I’ll be downloading these episodes to my iPod and listening to them during my daily run. Let me know what you guys think of this project. I’ve love for it to succeed and continue.
