LOS ANGELES, Calif. –Jan. 12, 2017 – Cinema Gypsy Productions and TateMen Entertainment alongside AudioHQ are set to release the 10-episode scripted audio drama, “Bronzeville,” an unparalleled look into Chicago’s “policy” games of the 1940’s, on Tuesday February 7, 2017.  The audio series will premiere hour-long episodes every Tuesday on digital platforms including Spotify, iTunes, Radio One/Interactive One, TuneIn, SoundCloud and Google Play with new content debuting through April 11, 2017. The audio drama is presented by GEICO, Blue Apron and TBD 3rd Advertiser.

 

Written by Academy Award® and BAFTA nominee Josh Olson (A History of Violence), “Bronzeville” will chronicle the lives of players in the lottery games while illuminating the self-sustainability of the community’s African American residents. Following the audio drama’s debut, Larenz Tate and Laurence Fishburne, will host a fireside chat on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the New York Spotify offices, in honor of Black History Month. The duo will share the inspiration behind “Bronzeville” with “Today” co-host, Tamron Hall, who will serve as moderator.

 

All 10 episodes of “Bronzeville” feature original songs from composers, 1500 Or Nothin, a musical ensemble founded by Grammy Award winning producers, Larrance “Rance” Dopson and James Fauntleroy II, with lead production by Lawrence Dopson and Ryan Stockbridge. Executive Producers for “Bronzeville” are Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, Larenz Tate, LaRon Tate, Matt Cutair, and Jeff McCarthy, with JP Sarni and Lahmard Tate as Co-Executive Producers. KC Wayland serves as Producer for the audio drama.  The podcast will be hosted on the Art19 platform, which allows for dynamic sponsorship messaging and reporting.
