CategoryThe Master Journal

As the writer and creator of We’re Alive, I imagined that there would have been one “Master” volume that is sort of a key to the rest of the information contained in the journals. For the many different projects and future stories that I’m working to tell, this blog can be that piece binding everything together. And just like the journals from the tower, this blog will also be written in a way to best convey an idea, not always the most technically/grammatically correct.

Ode to Browntown.

O

Excuse the fragmented speech, this is a rough one. It’s January 30th, 2016… and Brownie can’t get up. She’s going downhill. “Remember the time she got pepper sprayed?”, my brother exclaimed as he held his freshly cracked beer. “The 30 mph dog… we clocked her while chasing her in the suburban. I remember the front door would open by a crack and there...

The History of Wayland Productions – Part 1 – Coming Home

T

Wayland Productions has been around for a long time. I created it in high school as a way to start and establish a business early for creating multimedia content. Officially, I guess our anniversary is 1997, but in many ways it started even before then, with stop-motion animation and a few guerrilla films I shot on the weekends with friends. The content was a bit lacking back then, but you have...

Outpost 1; Life Finds A Way

O

First, a little background… The marathon that is “having a child,” started for me about May of last year [2015]. At the same time, my company was starting to prep for launching our Kickstarter campaign for We’re Alive: Lockdown. In fact, the mini series was already deep in pre-production, when my wife, Blaire, and I decided to try to have a child. For some crazy reason, I...

Welcome to The Master Journal

The Master Journal Logo

Welcome to the Master Journal, I’ve debated on doing this for some time, and it only took a newborn and lots of sleepless nights to get the ball rolling. After all, why not add a few more things onto my pile. A big reason why I chose to do this is because I’m tired of releasing information in small chunks through very proof-read articles on the We’re Alive official page. Often I...
